Role at Snowball Farm: Yard Manager
Length of time at Snowball Farm: 6 years and 6 months!
1. When did you first start riding?
Aged 11 years at the local riding school I loved it and was a helper here after about 3 months!
2. Can you remember winning your first rosette?
Yes, for a coloured class on a pony called harry i had on loan. He had bucked me off earlier in the day at my first show!
3. If you weren’t into horses what do you think you’d be doing now?
Probably would’ve have worked with children in some way, as I love teaching.
4. What’s the best bit about your job?
Getting to spend all day with horses and teaching a variety of clients as well as seeing them progress.
5. If you could own any horse, famous or not – which would it be?
Not sure I can think of any horse I would own rather than my homebred Millie
6. Which rider or trainer do you most admire and why?
I am amazed by Laura Collett – not only her ability but by the way she conducts herself at such a young age.
7. Proudest horsey moment?
Passing my BHS Stage 4 exam first time aged just 21, and the day Bumble and I got a 10 in a dressage test!
8. Tell us something about yourself that people will be surprised to learn?
People always think that I was a natural at horseriding but I actually was very bad! I just had a desire to be good at it and it took a long time and a lot of hard work!
Thanks to Helen for taking the tome to talk to us!
